1st April ‘97 Happy April Fools Day!
Guess what? J. is coming to fix my doors, cool aye? I knew it! I just knew it! Tweezer phoned - she April Fooled me. Cleaned up doors. Tez said to phone her when Jason arrives and mum said (totally un-prompted) why don’t you phone Teresa when Jason arrives? Cool or wot? I’ll write more tomorrow.

Thursday 3rd April ‘97
Hi! Yesterday was sooo cool! Mum phoned and we picked up after the machine, then Julie Atwill, then Jason!!! He was going to say he would give last night a miss but we persuaded him to come by saying we weren’t at school. Phew! Mum + Kezz had to go hall cleaning so I phone Tez and me + her agreed that I would phone when J. arrived. So I did. She said she didn’t want to talk to him - just listen to his voice over mine but J. grabbed the phone and spoke for a few minutes - I wasn’t listening much so I don’t know what either of them said. Anyway we were all excited so I said I’d phone her tomorrow.
So, the fun started! It took ages for the doors to be put on. J. saw my (newly tidied) room and Robert the spider. Anyway, J. was sweating buckets so mum said have you got a black t-shirt around? And I thought, cool! Him wearing one of my shirts! But best was yet to come, I brought him coke and he sat down, then he takes his shirt off - bearing chest totally!!! And he put’s mine on. His chest isn’t bad, as good as to be expected. I mean, he doesn’t body-build or anything sooo, not bad at all! I’ve seen his chest! Lalalalalalaa! Anyway, we watched Toy Story and laughed and he went home at 11.45. I had great fun! Bye!

Sunday 6th April ‘97
Hi it’s me. I’m really sick and got diaorrehea (don’t care how you spell it!) Dad has just come down with everybody and on Wednesday we saw Dante’s Peak. It’s really cool! Debbie and the kids were being their annoying little selves. Yesterday we went to Durlston and we went to the Globe! (Where Claire + J. went) That’s the only reason I asked to go there. Then we went back to Merley Court and went for another walk in the woods there. Afterwards, we went into the Bar and someone managed to spend three quid for me and still had the cheek to eat half my Mars bar!!! Anyway, Dad went home this morning. It’s great to see him but it’s not worth it - with Debbie and everything.Anyway, good bit now: I’ve had two dreams about Jason, one in early March and one last night.The first one was we were in my school on the stairs. He was behind me with his arms around my waist and he was kissing my neck, it was brilliant! 2nd time we were going on a trip and we were really cold so he undid his jacket and I put my arms inside - round his waist and we just stood and hugged. It was great.

Yo! I haven’t done much except wrote a letter to Jason after he phoned! He was at a loose end and wanted to come round with his Playstation but Nan was ‘ere so he couldn’t. Oh Fluff! Never mind. That’s about it, wait, one more thing did football last night Mr. G and Mr K were out and they were really funny! Well, that’s definitely it.

Sunday 13th/4/97
Hi. Guess what? We arranged to meet J. at Boscombe in Maccy D’s. Anyway we went early and bought some new clothes. Well we were going to go and meet J. but we went to the car to put our stuff in the boot and guess who we met! You got it, anyway we went round Boscombe for a bit and then J. said he was going to get something to eat then go home and get the Playstation. So he did and he had this game called Tekken 2 it was this street-fighter type thing and me + Kezz + J. were never off it!!! Kezz was beating him every time. Well, J’s hands got hot every now and then so I cooled them down with mine! Gorgeous! Well we got Eraser out and watched that (well half of it) then Kezz and I practiced over and over again on our favourites Michelle and Jun. Then, on the last game I beat Jason. Anyway he went home. Cool!

Monday 5th May ‘97
Yo! Too cool! It’s Bank Holiday Monday. J. came round last night, get this, J. came in and asked to use the phone because someone had paged him.Turns out it was Roy, and apparently, he was bored. So he came too!!! T’was tres cool! Here’s a seat plan:

We went out and got Multiplicity (which was dead boring) and some popcorn. Kezz shared hers with Roy and I shared mine with J. So, if I dropped some on my shirt Jason would pick it off and eat it and if he dropped some I picked it off his shirt and ate it. Great huh? And, there’s more, it was about half eleven and J. goes “go on, you can fall asleep on there” offering his shoulder. Who would refuse?!! We were sat so my shoulder was sandwhiched between him and the sofa, so we were constantly touching. Another thing, my fingers went well cold, so, I offered my cooling services and me and J. sat with our hands back to back. Lovely. Anyway, we talked and laughed and Roy went out for ciggies and, when they were going, we were waiting for Roy to finish, I catch, well, we caught each other’s gaze (me and J.) and he looks me up and down and I look him up and down, then, at exactly the same time, we both smile a kind of ‘yup, I know you in and out’ smile. Gorgeous. Anyway, as if that wasn’t enough, we went to Poole today and met Roy in his shop, then J. comes along with Pru!!! She’s okay. Anyway turns out he’s going to see Liar, Liar with her. Mmm. It doesn’t matter, she’s going to Bristol soon anyway, to uni.
Well, we went home, then came back again! Nan wanted something. And Roy told us, confidentially, he goes “J.’s really fond of you girls” “Really?” we go. “Yeah, treats you like family know what I mean?” That’s just soooo sweet!!!!! I feel more comfortable with him now, like, family walk up streets arm in arm etc. so, he wouldn’t think we were making a pass at him or something. Great. This is the best weekend ever. Teresa’s was awful, you know, at guide camp. Haha! I bought a new necklace, but I don’t tend to write stuff like that anymore, necklaces come and go, friends don’t.

P.S. 24th and Line Dancing were great, it’s all great! And, Roy wants us to come round for curry one day. Cool!

It’s Sunday and guess who came round Friday? Yup. It was just J. this time, he brought Muppet Treasure Island and we watched that then we watched Ghost with the lights out! Cool. Anyway, in the duration of M.T.I. My fingers went so cold I couldn’t feel them. I showed mum and usually J. would hold it in his hand but that day she said “why don’t you put it under J.’s arm?” I’m like “No way! Egghrrr!” I did like the concept, but, well in new fields of expertees (or parts of the body) I tend to tread carefully. Anyway, eventually he grabbed my hand and it put it under there himself. I’m like “how did you know?” to myself. Well, he checked it every so often and I happened to think they were warm by the fourth time but, I think he liked it, so it stayed under there another few minutes. I could hear Teresa’s jaw drop when I told her. Really cool or wot! We did other things and I smile as I remember them, but I won’t write ‘em down

Yo! Just to mention, one minor point that has dragged me down, Mum says she’s angry because we told J. stuff she said and she didn’t like it! LEARN, JESS, LEARN! Chain Reaction was cool, Kea was very cool. J. was coolest. Many memorable smells, temperatures, conversation topics and quotes emerged, so I had a great time. Not much to say really, I changed into my noo togs and I didn’t get the interview done. Oh, well! I feel great! It’s such a relief to have a real friend. Especially since he takes some of the pain away. Tears of happiness, really. Bye.

I’m half ready for the meeting and School’s Out is on. The pillow smells lovely. Thinking about it, I shared a lot of special moments last night. Mainly about Dad… I fell asleep warm last night.

Same day ^. Mum’s going “I don’t want him around here! How can he prefer us to his mates?! He’s not coming round anymore, you’ve got exams!!” etc. Ah, well. I’m not disappointed (lie mode cancel). I’ll just have to write (on occasion!)

I won’t see him until the weekend after the exams. He can’t afford Roy’s bike and Roy’s boss tried to kill himself - sshhh!
I think J. kind of sees me as a big sister/mother or something because I go “careful, it’s hot!” and stuff and see him as a dad and a kid brother at the same time. I know what he’s thinking and I like it. Night!

Wednesday in half term
Hi. Jenna came round today, went to Tweezer’s yesterday. Wasn’t bad. Got the Lucozade bottle! Seven in total. J. went to see The Relic last night and won’t be in till Monday (But mum can’t remember why!) The weather’s going to be delicious! Tez got me a ‘best friends’ necklace. It’s great. Revising is awful. Urm… c’est tout! Bon nuit!

I feel better now. It’s just, when I see Jason it’s like a painkiller that I can’t have. He’s there but I’m not allowed him. Something’s got to fill the gap, but what?
That project is on hold so it doesn’t matter. I’ve written to J. That’s it.

I really thought I would only see J. once or twice a year forever. But Haddy’s given us her car and mum wants to put seat belts in the back and she’s gonna get J. to do it!!!!!!! It’s probably the last time ever so I’ll make the most of it.

Dad just phoned. We’re going to Alton Towers soon with him. Mum said she’d get the seat-belts done by a pro. - it’s too hard for J. But! Guess what? He came over to do the radio instead! He came on Friday! It started when he phoned (I was off and Mum was too) I spoke to him and when I said I was depressed he goes Ohhrr! All concerned and he goes “what’s up? Tell uncle…er… big bro J.” I felt better already. Well he came over an hour or so after that. Sooo cool. No Lynx though! Crime of crimes! Tickling! Ginger! Etc.
